Major gas leak expected to last for hours in Fort Bend County

Fire crews and police are on the scene of a major gas leak in Fort Bend County.

Fort Bend County Constable Precinct 3 said Tuesday workers dug into a gas line on FM 1093 at Peek Road.

The gas is coming up from the ground and breaking up the concrete.

Authorities tell ABC13 the only safety concern is traffic. The area is blocked.

Delays are expected for at least several hours and could last overnight.
