A bus driver in Ohio has resigned after video surfaced allegedly showing him assaulting two children on his bus route

WHITEHALL, OH (KTRK) -- A bus driver in Ohio has resigned after video surfaced showing him allegedly assaulting two children on his bus route back in October.

Christopher Litostansky, 48, is now facing seven misdemeanor charges in all, including assault, endangering children and unlawful restraint. He resigned Wednesday, WSYX reports.

The first taped incident happened on October 10. The video shows Litostansky allegedly assaulting an 11-year-old boy with severe autism, and later, on the same bus ride, the driver allegedly poked a 6-year-old girl in the face with an umbrella. Another incident a few days later shows Litostansky separating the quarreling children and then allegedly tying the autistic boy's legs and tossing the girl into a window. The girl's parents say she got a concussion from hitting her head on a bus window.

The families of the children affected tell WSYX they plan to sue the driver and the school district. Their attorney says he plans to file a multi-million-dollar lawsuit.
