Enjoy nostalgia and a movie at the Showboat Drive-in

Just 40 miles northwest of downtown Houston, is a rare gem -- the Showboat Drive-In Theater, one of only 15 drive-ins left in Texas and 340 in the entire country.

"With the switch to digital projection, we have all of the same movies that are playing in all the big theaters, says Andrew Thomas owner and operator. "Technology has made the drive-in viable again."

"For parents, the drive-in movie may be nostalgic, but teens and college students are discovering what a great place it is to go for a date night or to hang out with friends," says Andrew.

There are two screens at Showboat Drive-In and each ticket buys you two feature films under the stars for one low price.

"We sell out every weekend," Andrew says. "The gates open at 6:30pm for our 8pm movies, and cars of families are lined up down the road as early as 4pm.

"It's more than just a movie, it's really an experience."
