HOUSTON (KTRK) -- They range in age from 6 to 22, but all have one thing in common - they can dance! The talented girls and women of the D3 Elite dance team based in northeast Houston just brought home one national award, and they hope to bring home another in September, but need some help.

The 30 girls and women of the D3 Elite Dance team in northeast Houston perform everything from tap to jazz, but are most known for their majorette style of dance.

They recently returned home from a national tournament Memphis, Tennessee, where they took home first place for their routines.

They now have the chance to put Houston in the national spotlight again, and are working hard to make that happen. There's a competition coming up in Jackson, Mississippi, hosted by the Dancing Dolls from the TV show "Bring It."

To get there, they need funds. So on Saturday, the dancers were out at the intersection of Cullen and Reed road in SE Houston selling fish dinners. Their goal is to raise $5,000. So far, they're at around $600.

We'll keep you posted on their progress, and if you're interested in helping, make sure to log onto their website, www.d3elitedance.com.
