TCH Gives Dancer a Second Chance at Her Dream

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Sometimes the art of dance can take a real toll on performers, no matter their age.

Since she was two Savannah, loved to dance. Years later during a High School performance she lost her balances and severely injured her hip.

Unsure if she would ever be able to dance again, she ventured to Texas Children's Hospital. They informed her that she had suffered a Labral tear, which often times can reveal a deformation of the hip.

A common option to rebuild the hip, would have ended Savannah's dance career, indefinitely. But the orthopedic surgeons at TCH were confident that this tear was solely injury related and they could perform a minimally invasive procedure to repair her hip.

Savannah was not only healed shortly after but was able to perform her final High School dance routine! Today she is a college freshman, now, with aspirations of becoming an orthopedic surgeon.
