Rap song targeted to senior citizens about safe sex

ASHEVILLE, NC (KTRK) -- A doctor in North Carolina is using rap music and creative dance moves to educate senior citizens about being smart in the bedroom.

Talking about sexually transmitted diseases can be a tough topic, especially if you're trying to reach the older generation.

With sexually transmitted diseases on the rise in seniors, Dr. Shannon Dowler created a music video titled "STD's Never Get Old."

Statistics show the rate of sexually transmitted diseases among senior citizens has almost doubled over the past 10 years.

Dr. Dowler raps about the importance of safe sex -- and wants to remind seniors that most STD testing and treatment is covered by Medicare.
