VIDEO: Mom holds separated twin
A moment so simple, yet so special and so gripping.

NEW YORK, NY -- Mothers hold their babies all the time. But Nicole McDonald calls the moment she held her son Jadon alone for the first time the most profound of her life.

At 13 months old, conjoined twin boys were successfully separated, and are now doing great and on the road to recovery.

Last week, it took doctors at Montefiore Hospital in New York 27 hours to separate Jadon and his brother Anias, who were conjoined at the head.

Mom had to wait until Jadon's doctors removed his breathing tube to hold him.

She has yet to cradle Anias. He's said to be doing well, but his recovery is expected to take a little longer.
