Medical marijuana users can now purchase cannabis-infused items at an LA farmer's market

LOS ANGELES, CA (KTRK) -- The nation's first medical marijuana farmers market is open for business in Los Angeles.

Dozens of vendors at the California Heritage Market are selling everything imaginable this weekend for authorized cannabis users. That includes weed-infused oils and different kinds of weed-infused foods.

It's free to get into the market, just as long as potential shoppers have a verified doctors note.

Paizley Bradbury, who helps run the market, said, "You need your medical marijuana recommendation that your doctor would give you...we verify through the doctor that the doctor is good. And then they're escorted here where they can mingle, talk and purchase cannabis."

The medical marijuana market runs through Sunday night. If it's a success, organizers plan to host more in the future.
