HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- You might not want to waste your money on "good-for-you" products that might actually be worse for you.

Eyewitness News is taking a look at ways to help you save calories and cash.

According to Health Magazine, these are the no-no foods for a healthy lifestyle.

Gluten-free packaged foods

Unless you actually have a gluten intolerance, nutritionists say that we should be avoiding foods in a box altogether. Besides, gluten free usually means a huge mark-up.

Flavored yogurts

Besides the fact that there is sugar added, some yogurts might have more sugar than a candy bar! So, stick with plain yogurt and flavor it with fresh fruit.

Salad dressings

If it's in a bottle, and it's salad dressing, it's probably bad for you. Most salad dressings are full of processed oils, sugar, and artificial colors. Stick with using your own olive oil, vinegar and herbs.

Cold-pressed juices

Health Magazine's nutritionist says juicing strips the fruit and vegetables of fiber and leaves all the sugar. Our bodies also can't absorb all the nutrients in a juice at once, so we're better off eating a piece of fruit or vegetable.
