Investigators say Cole Harrell's death may have been accidental, but they are still questioning witnesses.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A 23-year-old man is dead after a party near Summerwood turned deadly.

Houston police said five people were involved in an argument at a home on Waterside View Court, in the Stillwater community.

Investigators said around 2:30 a.m., the argument turned violent.

"They got into a fight. In the middle of the fight, a gun came out and it went off," explained Homicide Detective Shaun Sylvester. "We're not sure if it was some kind of accidental discharge or if somebody actually pulled the trigger, but we have one person who is deceased and the suspect who did turn himself in right away."

A fight at a house party ended with a man being shot and killed overnight in Summerwood area.

Family identified the victim as Cole Harrell. He leaves behind a 5-year-old son, and a Gofundme account has been established for the little boy.

Harrell was a star wide receiver at Huffman-Hargrave High School.

Four people are now being questioned by police this morning in the deadly shooting.

"These individuals all knew each other in some way, shape, or form," Detective Sylvester said.
