Your Friday Faves: Top 10 Dessert Shops

We asked for your favorite dessert shops around town, and here are the Top 10!

Dessert Gallery
If you haven't visited Dessert Gallery on Kirby, you're missing out! It is a quick stop where you can get decadent desserts, gourmet sandwiches and wraps, garden-fresh salads, coffee drinks and much more. ABC-13 viewer Latricia Battles recommends the cupcakes and lemon bars. If you love Dessert Gallery's sweets, head to their website where they have posted recipes to some of their most popular items.

Nothing Bundt Cakes
If you're in need of a cake for a special occasion, viewers recommend heading to Nothing Bundt Cakes. You choose your flavor, size, and decorative topping to fit your occasion. In addition to the everyday menu, there is always a featured flavor to choose from. Now it is Lemon Raspberry. There are eight Nothing Bundt Cakes locations in the Houston area.

The Chocolate Bar
Anything you can think of, The Chocolate Bar has created it out of chocolate, from cameras to cowboy boots. Then just when you think you've hit chocolate overload, you head to the dessert case for dozens of different cakes, pies, and ice cream.

Crave Cupcakes
Who doesn't love cupcakes?! Crave makes their cupcakes with premium ingredients including luxurious European chocolates, pure vanilla from Madagascar, fruit from Napa Valley and fresh local dairy. ABC-13's Ilona Carson says Crave cupcakes are still hard to beat! The menu changes daily and there are always vegan and sugar free options too.

Nu Cafe
Nu Cafe offers a very unique mix of Taiwanese snacks, hearty meals, and delicious desserts. You've probably already heard about Nu Snow, otherwise known as Nu Ice or Ribbon Ice. Most popular in Taiwan and California, Nu Cafe says it is the only place in Texas that serves it the way it should be. ABC-13 viewer E. J. Garcia says Nu Cafe is like nothing you have ever eaten!

Flying Saucer Pie Shop
Not to be mistaken for the bar, the Flying Saucer Pie Shop has been serving up pies since 1967 - making it Houston's oldest pie shop. Their pies are made daily from scratch and are always fresh, never frozen.

Ooh La La Sweets
With three locations in the Houston area, Ooh La La Dessert Boutique offers fresh, made-from-scratch desserts, including award-winning cupcakes, cakes, pies, cookies and more. Pastry chef and native Texan Vanessa O'Donnell is a graduate of the Art Institute of Houston's Baking and Pastry program and has trained with world-renowned bakers.

3 Brothers Bakery
3 Brothers Bakery has been a Houston favorite for 65 years! A fifth generation baker now runs the three locations, along with his wife and aunt. The pastry and cake selection is out of this world, with ABC-13 viewer Julia Parsons calling it the best in Houston!

Sweet in CITYCENTRE serves up delicious cakes, pastries, and macarons. All of the sweet treats are handmade in the store daily using local and organic ingredients whenever possible. On Truffle Tuesdays, two cake truffles are just $2.
