HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Now that students are back to the books and knee deep in work, we thought we'd get viewers' opinions on their favorite local spots to grab a cup of joe.

Today is National Coffee Day, so celebrate at one of the Top 10 Coffee Shops in the Greater Houston area.

Boomtown Coffee

Boomtown Coffee is an artisan coffee roaster-retailer in The Heights. Their goal is to track down specialty coffees, develop relationships with growers and importers, and bridge the gap between crop and cup. They roast daily in small batches.

3 Brothers Bakery

The bakery that also made the Friday Faves list of Top 10 Dessert Shops is also a top spot for coffee drinkers. ABC13 viewers rave about the atmosphere and staff at the Washington location, making it one of the top coffee shops around town.

Dunn Bros. Coffee

Dunn Bros. Coffee is a Friendswood favorite. Download their app and you'll receive a $3 credit. You'll also get a free coffee by joining their email list! One ABC13 viewer says the Friendswood location has great employees and is extremely community friendly!

Black Hole Coffee

It's hard to snag a seat at this hidden gem in the Museum District. There's a vintage vibe and some of the best desserts around to keep you staying awhile. Follow them on Facebook, and it will be hard not to pay them a visit. They post photos of their cupcakes and sweet treats daily.

Southside Espresso

The latte art at Southside Espresso is reason enough to check them out. From swans to hearts and flowers, everything their baristas create are truly works of art. They're located behind Uchi in the Montrose area and can be easy to miss.

Mod Coffee House

MOD Coffeehouse is a Community Coffeehouse in the heart of Historic Downtown Galveston. They even have a customer loyalty program - buy 10 coffees and you'll get one free! Dogs on leashes are welcome too!

Empire Cafe

The Empire Cafe came about after a Hollywood film producer came to town for a project and found there wasn't anywhere to get a decent cup of coffee. So he and a partner opened the restaurant and coffee shop. Recently that producer passed the torch to its current, Texan owner who continues to ensure an excellent cup of coffee is right in the heart of Montrose.

Antidote Coffee

Head to The Heights to try out a drink at Antidote. The coffee shop often partners with food trucks to provide customers with a way to grab a bite to eat also. They're open late, so you can make yourself at home, at least until midnight!

Tout Suite

If you haven't heard, Tout Suite is one of the newest coffee shops in EADO and is already becoming a crowd favorite. The bakery, coffee shop, and Internet cafe. From grilled cheese to mac and cheese, they have a great menu with local foods. They even serve brunch on the weekends. Each week starts with Macaron Monday - buy three macarons get one free!

Siphon Coffee

The folks at Siphon Coffee offer guests unique ways to consume great coffee, including halogen siphons. They also pay attention to what's on the plates, as well as in the cups. They realize that people actually like something great to nibble on, no matter how wonderfully pure and complex that cup may be.
