Hot soup assault captured on camera in Missouri

SPRINGFIELD, MO (KTRK) -- A restaurant owner is recovering from burns to her arms after an irate customer tossed a bowl of hot soup at her.

Workers say the customer first called saying she was given the wrong size of soup.

The restaurant explained they only sell one size, but offered a refund if she brought in her receipt.

The woman later showed up, but without the receipt, and that's when things turned ugly.

Surveillance video captured the customer throwing hot soup on the owner.

The woman fled, but not before other customers were able to get her license plate number.

No action has been taken yet, but authorities say she could be charged with assault.
