Coffee rewards worth the perks
Patricia Lopez shares how to be rewarded for your morning drink routine

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Parents, have you managed to get your caffeine fix? Well, you can be earning some valuable points by joining several coffee rewards programs around town.

Patricia Lopez shares things you may not have known about the coffee chain

Whether you like it hot or cold, coffee is part of the morning routine for so many consumers.

To maximize your dollars, though, it pays you to join rewards clubs. Most you can do via a smartphone app.

At Dunkin' Donuts -- for DD perks members -- order your food and it will be ready and you can avoid the line when you pick it up.

Through the DD perks app, when you enroll with a credit card, you enjoy a free beverage off the top.

And this week, Dunkin' Donuts is offering 50 extra points when you enroll by August 28th.

Then after that, you earn five points for every dollar spent. Two-hundred points equals a free drink, plus you also get a freebie on your birthday.

With Starbucks rewards program, you earn points based on how much you spend. It's two stars per $1 spent. You also get a free birthday reward and you can order ahead so you don't have to wait.

But to score addditional freebies, head to Starbucks located in Kroger grocery stores. When you use your Kroger plus card to purchase coffee, your 11th coffee is free.

At Panera with your my Panera card, you can score free coffee or pastries depending on the promo. Right now by registering, it's a free sweet treat.
