Firefighters face huge fire and high water near Memorial
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A multifamily complex has been destroyed by an out of control fire inside a flooded community off Memorial Drive.
Houston firefighters were battling the fire at the building on Memorial and Kirkwood Drive.
Their efforts were being hampered by the burglar bars around the facility.
Typically, firefighters would attempt to battle the blaze from the inside out, but because they cannot get inside this building, it would appear this will be a total loss.

Firefighters arrived to find fire shooting out of the roof of the building in several spots.
The inferno sent a dark column of smoke into the air that could be seen for miles.
There is no word of any injuries or how the fire started.
