Smashin Fashion highlighting women
The models in the show are real women ranging in sizes from two to 22

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- When most of us think of a fashion show, we think of tall, thin models walking down the runway, but Sarah Shah, Author of Dress Yourself Skinny, wanted to change that, and she came up with a fashion show she calls Smashin Fashion.

"I created this event for regular shaped women ... so they can see how to dress their bodies and be beautiful," she explained.

The models in the show are real women ranging in sizes from two to 22. They not only get to walk the runway at the Art Institute of Houston, but they also learn tips and tricks to dress their body types.

Most of the stylists for the event are students at Art Institute of Houston. Shah taught them her Dress Yourself Skinny techniques, and they're each styling a model and competing for $1,000.

The fashion show may be sold out, but Shah wants people at home to get involved, too. There will be interactive social media screens at the event, and if we use #smashinfashion, we can look at and weigh in on the looks from tonight's show.

"I'm on a mission to show women of every size that they're beautiful no matter what their body looks like, and tonight, we're going to prove it on the runway," says Shah.
