It's not too late to sign up for summer camps. Here's how you can save money.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Swimming, zip lining and adventures outdoors are typical summer camp activities.

Here in the Greater Houston area there are plenty of options.

"I have over 200 camps in my database so I'm really on top of what is going on out there," says Sarah Gish with thesummerbook.com.

Gish says if you think you are too late to sign up for area camps, your delay actually might help you save money!

"I think everybody is negotiable, especially in this economy, and it's really a tough economy right now so I know a lot of the camps are looking to fill spots," says Gish.

At Sarah's site, it's easy to search for camps by category, price range and camps that offer scholarships.

"Another thing you want to look for is sibling discount so if you have more than one kid signing up you can get discounts," says Gish.

Other ways to save money, check your area churches for day camps.

Many are free or charge $25 to $50.
