One couple proved to their daughter that there's no need to feel self-conscious about her body with a set of matching tattoos.

Adam and Tanya Phillips of Grimsby, England, are the parents of Honey-Rae, an 18-month-old girl with a birthmark that covers the lower right side of her body. In an effort to make sure their daughter won't feel uncomfortable about her birthmark when she grow's older, the couple tattooed got matching tattoos of their daughter's birthmark on their right legs.

"Most people might think it's very extreme," Tanya told the Mirror. "But to us, it was the natural thing to do to ensure our daughter never felt different or alone in the world."

Honey-Rae was born with the mark on her leg, and her parents noticed that it wasn't fading away as she grew older.

"It is bright red and it covers almost half of the right side of her body," Tanya told the Mirror. "It stretches from her toes to her lower back. It hasn't faded with time. In fact some days, it looks darker than others."

Tanya says that the decision to get the matching tattoos came after she took Honey-Rae shopping, and noticed an older couple murmuring to each other and staring at her daughter's leg.

"(My husband and I) had talked about having duplicate tattoos done for a little while, but that day, my mind was made up," Tanya added. "People are cruel without even realizing."

However, Tanya says that Honey-Rae was ecstatic when she sees her parent's tattoos.

"She now constantly touches mine and Adam's tattoos then her own birthmark and giggles," Tanya told the Mirror. "I couldn't be happier."
