Teacher gives birth at school as assistant principal husband arrives just in time.

LEXINGTON, KY (KTRK) -- A Kentucky teacher got an early surprise on Thursday.

WKYT reported that Allison Zemba, an 8th grade teacher at East Jessamine Middle School, gave birth during school.

Friday was supposed to be Zemba's last day before going on maternity leave. Her due date was supposed to be Dec. 30.

According to Nicholasville Police, Zemba went into the bathroom to deliver the baby girl.

According to Jessamine County Schools Superintendent Kathy Fields, Casey Plouffe, Zemab's husband and a teacher at the school, and the school nurse helped deliver her.

The school is planning on a celebration for Zemba when she returns from maternity leave.

Superintendent Fields says a call went out to parents to make them aware of the situation.
