It's Free Stuff Friday!

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Let the kids get ready for back to school by building their own mini crate pencil holder. That's the craft in this month's Home Depot Kids Workshop. The free event for children ages 5 to 12 takes place Saturday, August 2 from 9 a.m to noon. Make sure to sign up online to reserve your spot.

European Wax Center is offering free waxing! Guests at the Oakforest 43rd/Ella location may choose from Brazilian, eyebrow, or any other services. There's no limit to the number of services booked. The free days are Friday, August 1; Saturday, August 2; and Monday, August 4. Reservations book up quickly.

Join Long John Silver's for a fish fry on Saturday and they'll give you free fish and fries! The deal is going on August 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and there's no purchase or coupon necessary. Also, text FISH to 41522 and you will get a free coke with your meal.

Take your little LEGO fans to your closest LEGO Store on Tuesday, August 5 for a free Monkey Mini Model Build! The free event begins at 5 p.m. for children ages 6 to 14.

Wednesday, August 6 is National Root Beer Float Day and you can snag a free one. Stop in to your local A&W Restaurant anytime between 2 p.m. and store closing for your free small root beer float.

There's a new Chick-fil-A in town, and they're giving away free food! The new location at The Woodlands at College Park opens Thursday, August 7. As with all Chick-fil-A grand openings, the first 100 people in line will receive a grand prize of one Chick-fil-A meal per week for a year!

Want a waffle on the house? Here is a coupon for a free one at the Waffle House when you sign up for the Regulars Club! The coupon is valid Monday through Friday and does not expire until August 15.

It's back to school time and everyone wants to look their best! Children under 17 can get a complimentary haircut at Remington College during the entire month of August. The entire month, Remington College student salons will be collecting school supplies for local schools. Anyone who brings in a donation - pens, pencils, notebooks, etc. - will receive a complimentary haircut, manicure or pedicure.

Hands on Houston is a free craft event this weekend at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. This month's event will take place Saturday, August 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Each participant will decorate a paper bracelet using colorful sharpies, then, place a LED light on the back to make it glow!

Saturday is also White Linen Nights in The Heights. Pick out your favorite white outfit and head to the streets of the Houston Heights to shop and eat local with live music. Lots of Heights stores will be having storewide sales on Saturday for the event. There is no general admission fee, and the event takes place from 6 to 10 p.m.

Next week is free museum Thursdays in Houston. Head to your favorite museum in the city at absolutely no cost. Some of the participating museums:

Kids eat free at Denny's on Tuesdays! Stop by the restaurant nearest you from 4 to 10 p.m. and your child will eat dinner at absolutely no cost.

Explore the history of American craft at Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens on three Fridays this summer: August 1, August 8, and August 15. Each two-hour program features free activities and art-making programs for children and their caregivers, centered on the ceramics collection. Pottery-wheel demonstrations, scavenger hunts, and take-home activities are part of each day's events. Admission is free, but space is limited, and advance reservations are strongly recommended.
