How would your kids react if you told them you had an early Christmas "present" for them and it turned out to be healthy food?

That's exactly the prank that this dad pulled, and his kids' reactions are pretty darn cute.

When his son and daughter first catch sight of their presents -- a banana and an onion -- they are surprised and a little confused, but the son smiles and seems delighted as he adorably exclaims, "a banana!"

By the end of the video, both kids are thanking their dad for the presents. Though it's not clear whether they were prompted to do so, they do seem genuinely happy with their unexpected gifts.

Though the video was originally posted for Christmas 2011, it went viral this year after being posted to Reddit.

The dad, Tim Cocker, said he did it because his children will "inevitably" be spoiled on Christmas morning, and he wants them to know that they are fortunate. As Reddit users pointed out, their gratefulness seems to prove that they already knew. Good job, Dad.
