STATEN ISLAND, NY -- A young boy on Staten Island is being hailed as a hero for saving his mother's life.

The 7-year-old second grader used his mom's smartphone to call 911 when she collapsed during dinner earlier this month.

Mom Michelene Bumbrey says she fainted after her blood pressure dropped rapidly, and she apparently fell out of her chair and hit her head against the floor, opening up a deep gash on her forehead.

Jayden Allen-Walton sprung into action, calling 911 and telling the dispatcher that his mother was bleeding on the floor.

"She started putting her head down, and then she said her stomach hurt," he said. "And I felt a little worried...I called 911, got the neighbor next door, and I called my God mommy."

Bumbrey needed a five-day hospital stay to recover.

"He is definitely my hero," she said. "He's only in second grade, but he's very smart. He's not the typical 7-year-old. He's very advanced. If he was not here with me, I'm not sure if I would be here."

Jayden hopes to become a police officer or a firefighter when he grows up, but if not, his fallback option is professional wrestler.

Bumbrey hopes to take him to see professional wrestling match as a reward.
