Dating app Tinder to change rules

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (KTRK) -- You may now want to think twice before swiping right on Tinder. The popular dating app will soon limit how many likes you can have at once.

It's part of the company's launch of its premium features, called Tinder Plus.

Right now, users can like as many people as they want for free. Soon, you'll only get a certain amount of likes per month.

Want more and you'll need to pay up. The prices vary from country to country and are based on your age.

In the US, if you're under the age of 30, you can get unlimited likes for $9.99 a month. The cost then doubles for people over the age of 30. Tinder Plus users in the US will have to pay $19.99 a month, Mashable reports.

"Lots of products offer differentiated price tiers by age, like Spotify does for students, for example," said Rosette Pambakian, Tinder's VP of corporate communications and branding. "Tinder is no different; during our testing we've learned, not surprisingly, that younger users are just as excited about TinderPlus, but are more budget constrained, and need a lower price to pull the trigger."

Tinder is also adding a "Rewind" feature that allows you to go back and undo your last swipe. There's also a "Passport" feature that lets users change locations and browse potential matches in other cities.
