Texas native Matthew McConaughey gets star on Walk of Fame

LOS ANGELES, CA (KTRK) -- Matthew McConaughey's legacy is now a permanent fixture in Hollywood.

The Texas native received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday.

McConaughey is the 2,534th star on the celebrity sidewalk. It's the latest in the series of honors for the actor, which also include an Oscar and Emmy nomination.

He has appeared in more than 40 feature films and won the best actor Oscar for his starring role in Dallas Buyers Club.
