A closer look at the rodeo numbers for 2017.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- It was another record-breaking year for the 2017 Houston Livestock and Rodeo with over 2.5 million people going out to rodeo events.

While the attendance numbers are impressive, it's the details of those numbers that really highlight the Houston rodeo experience.

When it comes to our cute four-legged friends, the Houston rodeo welcomed 58 piglets, 20 calves, and 14 lambs, all born at the birthing center. 425 eggs hatched in the poultry exhibit.

We won't even try to do the math on the amount of total calories were consumed this year. But just to give an idea of what that number could be, visitors consumed 47,480 tamales, 38,000 cinnamon rolls, 29,196 potatoes, 18,915 barbecue sandwiches, 8,000 funnel cakes, and 3,400 corn dogs.

Some visitors must have been really hungry, because 122 made sure to grab a slice of bug pizza. You read right. Bug pizza.

Of course, the carnival is another rodeo fan favorite. It took 350 truckloads of equipment to build the carnival.

Visitors had a ball playing carnival games to say the least. The top five games were Bank a Ball #1, One Ball, Mini Basketball, Bank a Ball #2, and Tubs.

Quite a few visitors who made sure to "step right up" to the carnival games walked away with a prize. According to Rodeo numbers, 80 semitrailers full of teddy bears found new homes.

The rides at the rodeo are always a popular attraction. The top five rides this year were Skyride, La Grande XL, Windstorm, RaveWave, and G Force.

Overall, the 2017 Houston Livestock show and Rodeo was a wild ride for everyone that attended.
