You may not recognize the name Nathan Sawaya, but he was definitely one of the stars of the Oscars this past Sunday. The New York-based artist was responsible for creating the Lego Oscar statuettes that were handed out during Tegan and Sara and The Lonely Island's performance of "Everything is Awesome."

The yellow brick statuettes became instant collects items, with celebrities like Emma Stone and Oprah happily clutching the toys following the ceremony.
According to his website, Sawaya has more than 2.5 million of the colored bricks in his New York and Los Angeles art studios.
