Mariah Carey gets animated in new 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' movie
Christmas music season is here and a very popular song by Mariah Carey has been turned into an animated movie.
Carey's Christmas classic, "All I Want for Christmas Is You" is the basis for an animated movie of the same name.
Carey says she's resisted letting the song be used until now.
"A lot of people call and say, 'Can we use this for this movie, or that movie?' And I try to keep it for myself because it's the first Christmas song I ever wrote and it means a lot to me," said Carey.
The film tells the story of young Mariah who sees a puppy named Princess at the pet store and suddenly knows exactly what she wants for Christmas. Little Mariah must prove that she's responsible by taking care of her uncle's dog. The movie's plot expands on Carey's 2015 children's book of the same name, which has sold over 750,000 copies.
The animated film features a new original song by Carey and includes two other holiday hits besides the titular song. The movie is available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and online streaming.
