Levy Park re-opening celebration

Celebrate, participate and discover Houston's newest signature green space. Levy Park is having a re-opening celebration Saturday.

Enjoy a day full of activities that showcase Houston's diverse arts community and programmatic partners including Yoga, Tai Chi, live music, dance, food trucks, literary programming, Zumba and much more. The celebration will conclude with a grand finale concert under the Park's beautiful new pavilion.

4th Annual Houston Creole Heritage Festival & Mardi Gras Parade

The Houston Shop Ministries is hosting the Creole Heritage Festival and Parade Saturday from 9am to 9pm with food and Zydeco music at Discovery Green.

Build a bee house
Bring the kiddos over to the Jesse H. Jones Park and Nature Center on Saturday at 10am.

Texas native bee numbers are in decline due to pesticides and loss of nesting sites. Learn how you can help these interesting insects and build a box to take home. Limit one box per household.
Frontier Family Day
Explore Texas history by visiting The Heritage Society's Frontier Family Day on Sunday from 1 to 4. An afternoon of learning and fun will feature musical entertainment by Celtaire String Band. Liberty and Justice , Texas longhorns from Texas Recollections Farm in Washington, Texas, will demonstrate farm life in pioneer times.

Tour Old Place, the oldest remaining structure in Harris County, which dates from the days of Stephen F. Austin's Colony in Spanish Texas. Children's author, Laurie Cockerell, will read from her popular book about Sam Houston, "Magnificent Sam." There will be frontier craft activities for young children and cowboy grub refreshments for all in the Duncan General Store.

Kingwood Town Center 2017 Mardi Gras Festival and Parade

Head over to Kingwood for a Mardi Gras celebration and parade. The event is from noon to 6pm at the town center. It will include live music, arts and crafts and food and beverage booths. The parade will start at 2pm.
