She's best known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones, but now Emilia Clarke can add the title of sexiest woman alive to her resume.

Esquire announced on Tuesday that the 28-year-old British actress had been selected as its Sexiest Woman Alive for 2015. In a profile for the magazine, Clarke is described as "friendly and fierce. Kid sister and killer. Movie star and girl next door."

"She manages to bring together a number of opposites, to make them natural: sweetness and toughness, emotionalism with a kind of cold-blooded determination," wrote Esquire writer Benjamin Markovitz.

Markovitz went on to describe Clarke's dual persona, both appealing as the girl next door and a more dominating movie maven.

"Half kid sister, half sexy queen. The movie star who plays, in her real life, an anonymous, funny beauty. This is the gorgeous balance of Emilia Clarke," Markovitz wrote.

Clarke now joins the ranks of Charlize Theron, Halle Berry and Scarlett Johansson as past recipients of Esquire's "Sexiest Woman Alive" title.
