New App
Katherine Whaley has a new app that can help your carpool woes.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- If you drive kids to school, you're probably used to sitting in a carpool line that seems to have no end.

Lesley Koerner picks up her two kids at The Grace School in West Houston every day, but this year the wait is a lot shorter.

Thanks to a new app called "Safe Dismiss" you get to spend more time with your kids.

Here's how it works:

School security officers input the names of parents into the app in the order they line up in the parking lot then the teachers see that order on the app and send the kids out one by one.

The app is especially helpful on days when the weather is not so great because the kids can stay inside, until mom or dad rolls up.

The app is free to download and schools pay about $50 a month to subscribe to the program.
