HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- JetBlue unveiled a free reading book vending machine in Houston on Tuesday.

Many Houston Public Library branches were severely damaged by Hurricane Harvey, leaving hundreds without vital services and books.

On Giving Tuesday, JetBlue installed a free book vending machine and hosted a pop-up library in the Northeast Multi-Service Center as part of its Soaring Reading initiative, which benefits Houston kids who no long have access to libraries.

The service center will give away 25,000 brand-new books for kids between the ages of 1 to 14 throughout the month of December.
