HPD to provide 3,500 boxes of food for those in need
Houston police offers are set to distribute more than 3,500 boxes of food for families in need this holiday season.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Houston police officers are distributing more than 3,500 boxes of food for families in need this holiday season.

The officers will distribute the boxed food items to churches that pre-registered in the program.

HPD officers collected the items during the department's 32nd annual Comida food drive at Fiesta marts throughout Houston.

The churches registered to receive the food items will meet at 9300 La Porte Freeway service road from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
