Houston prepares for downtown Christmas tree lighting
The city's massive Christmas tree is almost ready for next week's lighting ceremony.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- City hall is getting ready for the holidays.

Houston's 65-foot white fir tree from Oregon was all dressed up today by crews at city hall.

Cranes were used to start stringing lights and hanging ornaments ahead of the mayor's holiday celebration and tree lighting.

The 98th annual event is scheduled for Friday, December 1, from 6-8 p.m.
