Charging cow leaves deputy in hospital in Beaumont

BEAUMONT, Texas (KTRK) -- A deputy was hospitalized this morning after a cow charged him in Beaumont.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the deputy was responding to a livestock call on 10th Street and Delaware when he was injured.

The deputy, who has not been named, was taken to the hospital for observation.

We do not know what injuries the deputy suffered or how the cow got on the loose.
