Seasonal jobs: How to make some extra cash this holiday season
Want to make some more money for the holidays? abc13's Patricia Lopez shows you how.

A seasonal job can make the holidays more affordable for many families.

Here are some tips for making the transition into your new part-time job:

First, apply right now before employers fill up their team. There is a sense of urgency because employers need to get staff on the floor right now.

Second, search for a variety of jobs. Professional companies need subs to help schedule time off for vacation.

Third, be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays, too. The most enthusiastic, efficient and flexible candidates are likely to get the job.

Fourth, remember a temp job can become permanent.

Finally, be honest with yourself if you really want a seasonal job. If you don't think you can honor that commitment for the duration of the holiday season, don't take that job.
