Oprah reveals secrets of success to Houston crowd
Oprah Winfrey brought her U.S. tour to the Bayou City Friday night, speaking to thousands of people about how she became the icon she is today

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Oprah Winfrey is in Houston as part of her eight-city "The Life You Want" tour. More than 10,000 people packed into the Toyota Center to hear Winfrey's keys to success and happiness.

"I love Oprah! I will go anywhere to see Oprah," said San Diego resident Dahlia Zalk.

"The more positive I have in my life, the better off I am," said Karen Martin, who drove to Houston from Fort Worth with her son.

In her talk, Oprah highlights intimate details of her personal journey and her insights to life.

"I think everybody wants to live a better life, be better, do better, and I think no matter what you're going through -- and everybody's going through something -- they feel they can get inspiration, motivation, clarity, when they come to this event," said Gayle King, who was in the audience for the event.

The event runs through Saturday evening, and at times, Oprah will call on a team of what she calls her "spectacular spiritual leaders" and visionary trailblazers including Deepak Chopra and Elizabeth Gilbert, author of "Eat Pray Love."

"She goes into those moments of failure and vulnerability and that's where we all connect," said Dancing With the Stars contestant and Para-Olympian Amy Purdy. "Everybody who's here inspires me. We just kind of feed off of each other. It's a very empowering experience."
