Seeking a new career? Check out this Houston job fair

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- If you are looking for a job, there are opportunities waiting for you later today.

Localwork.com is hosting a job fair at the Sheraton North Houston near Bush Intercontinental Airport beginning this morning.

The fair features dozens of employers, and runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 15700 John F. Kennedy Boulevard.

Middle-skill jobs are the focus of the fair, and include careers for electricians, plumbers, help desk and IT workers, among others.

Ryan Naylor, founder and president of LocalWork.com, said Houston remains one of the fastest growing areas in the nation.

"While population growth typically brings more jobs to retail and service sectors, we're also seeing demand for a variety of middle-skill workers: people who may not have a bachelor's degree, but do have some education beyond high school, whether it's an associates degree or a certification program," Naylor said.
