Retail stores announce Thanksgiving Day closures

A trend may be underway as several stores announce they will be closed Thanksgiving Day.

Half Price Books, Game Stop, Mattress Firm and Staples have all announced they will be closed for the holiday, but that shoppers can still snag deals online.

All four of these stores will reopen for Black Friday.

Last year, Nordstrom, Costco and TJ Maxx decided to stay closed, too.

We expect a lot more people will be off to celebrate the holiday with retail closings on Thanksgiving Thursday.
