HOUSTON -- Scammers are looking to take advantage of your generosity this holiday season. But the Better Business Bureau is trying to help charitable donors avoid being ripped off.
Today the BBB released its annual list of Houston's best charities. Those organizations meet 20 rigorous standards for accreditation, but for organizations that don't seek a BBB seal, they say watch out.
"Any non-profit that has been in the news, or been in trouble, or under review, generally falls in that last area," said Dan Parsons with the BBB. "They're not talking to us."
