PORTLAND, OR (KTRK) -- After spending thousands of dollars to get her car fixed, a woman in Portland got a red light ticket in the mail, courtesy of her mechanic.
The woman had just gotten her car back from the mechanic when the shop called to warn her one of the mechanics was caught running a red light by a red light camera during a test drive.
But when the women received the ticket and saw the time stamp, she noticed it was taken at 3am and the photo showed the mechanic was not alone. There was a young woman with him as he took a joyride in the car.
The owner, who was not identified, said, "We were so frustrated because you take your car in, you spend thousands of dollars with the company and then it's like they smack you across the face by doing stuff like this."
The shop owner claims the mechanic, who is also his son, drove the car all weekend -- on purpose -- to run her car through a "drive cycle."
