Manvel student among NFL draft attendees in New York City

NEW YORK

Gary Haynes uploaded video throwing a 40-yard pass to himself, and it's garnered more than 300,000 views online.

"I've seen Jamal Charles doing it and I was like that can't be real," Haynes said. "So I was like maybe I should try and mine's going to be real."

It was so real that Good Morning America flew Haynes, his mom and step dad to New York City to be on the program Thursday morning. And that wasn't all.

"Michael Strahan was asking me who's my favorite player and I was like Deion Sanders, and he was like 'Well look to the right,'" Haynes said. "He came through the double doors and I was like oh my God, and then he gave me tickets to the NFL draft. And I was like God is great."

Haynes is no strangers to making great catches. He had 56 receptions for the Mavericks last season. His last catch, though, will be hard to top.

"Do you think there's someone who can top that video now?" we asked Haynes.

"They can try. Will they succeed? I don't think," he said.

Haynes says he sees this trip to the NFL Draft as a preview. He hopes he'll return in about six years to be among the draft hopefuls.
