A popular DJ is recovering after being attacked in the Montrose area and left unconscious.

Maria Burciaga, also known as DJ Kittie, has bruises all over her body from the attack.

"That's the thing that I don't remember but I'm sure someone saw something," she told Eyewitness News.

She remembers leaving Blur Bar in Montrose early Monday morning, but that's it.

"I woke up the next day, I want to say around 6 in the morning inside my vehicle," Burciaga said.

Her injuries are extensive.

"Lower back, my knees and my arms," she said

Burciaga spent Monday in the hospital then was released. There has been an outpouring of support from the LGBT community and now she hopes someone can help her find out what happened to her.

Burciaga's bag and cell phone were stolen. She's hoping video in the parking lot where the attacked happened may have caught something.

Houston police are investigating.
