A family and their dog escaped a house fire in north Houston last night.

Flames were spotted in the home just before 10pm off Maxroy and Dewalt.

A mother and her daughter both escaped unharmed. At first, they couldn't find their pet Chihuahua named Gizmo but he was found after the flames were put out hiding under the house. He's just fine too.

Firefighters say an electrical problem is likely to blame. No one got hurt.
