13 pound baby born at Delaware County hospital

DREXEL HILL, Pa. - April 17, 2014

"I'm thankful he was healthy and well," said Danielle Dwyer.

Mom Danielle is talking about her son Waldo James Mysterious Dwyer. It's a long name for a 13 pound 8 1/2 ounce baby boy.

Baby Waldo was born at Delaware County Memorial Hospital via C-section, a couple weeks after his original due date.

"He had a little extra time in there to cook, to grow. It seems as though he is so peaceful," said Danielle.

"When he came out, when the doctor pulled him out, on his shoulders, there were so many fat rolls you couldn't tell where his armpits were," said Brian Dwyer, dad.

The Dwyers had been told to expect a 9-10 pound bundle of joy.

"We knew he was big but not that big," said Danielle.

As for his first name, both his mom and dad say they liked the 'Where's Waldo?' books.

"If there is one child who could own that name Waldo James Mysterious, I think that it's him," said Brian.

As for 'Mysterious,' his artistic dad says the little guy already has mystery about him. His birthdate of April 14, 2014 is a palindrome that reads the same forward and reverse.

"He was almost 14 pounds, under a blood red lunar eclipse. I don't know what any of that means but it seems like the first few sentences of a tall tale," said Brian.

If Waldo's dad looks familiar, Action News has featured him before as co-founder of Pizza Brain, a popular Fishtown pizza shop and pizza museum.

The Dwyers live above the shop but there are plenty of people downstairs looking forward to Waldo's first visit.

"That baby is huge! That's a huge baby! You know Brian is probably 6'5" or 6'7" so we think this is going to be a big kid," said Michael Carter, Pizza Brian co-founder.

Meanwhile baby Waldo and his mom are expected to be released from the hospital on Friday.
