A man is facing charges after leading police on a car chase in west Houston with two children in the backseat.

Police say they tried to pull the man over for driving with no headlights on near downtown, but he refused to stop. The chase came to an end on the Katy Freeway near Arlington when the driver lost control and hit a curb.

"The officer was then able to take the driver into custody and in the back of the car, he found a seven- and a five-year-old. Nobody was injured," said Lt. Larry with the Houston Police Department.

Police say the man did not have a license, which may be the reason he took off. He is charged with felony evading and could face charges for child endangerment.
