The accident happened just before 7am near Beltway 8 East. Traffic was backed up to the 610 East Loop. The freeway was finally reopened around 9:15am.
It's unclear how many vehicles were involved in the wreck. No word on any injuries but we do know Life Flight did land on the freeway.
An investigation is underway.
