At about 5am, a resident was approached just outside of an apartment complex entrance gate in the 7000 block of Hillcroft. Police say the robbery victim shot the suspect who was trying to steal his car.
The wounded suspect was taken to an area hospital and later died, according to police.
The robbery victim gave a statement to police. The investigation is ongoing.
