Bar employees chase down suspected burglars in southeast Houston

HOUSTON

It all began at a bar on Beamer Road around 3am. Police say two employees were closing up when someone turned off the lights and tried to break through the back door. The employees ran out the front door.

"We saw them coming around the building and then we chased them and they stopped. They said they were 'peeing' in the alley way," said one employee, identified only as 'Candy.' "But they cut off all of the power and then they took off and they came towards us and we chased them all the way out here."

The bar employees say they chased the suspects up the Gulf Freeway, sometimes reaching speeds of 100 miles per hour. The suspects eventually crashed. Police showed up and caught the suspects after a foot chase.

Right now, one suspect is being held for driving with a suspended license. The other had warrants out for his arrest.
