Attempted robbery ends with arrest of two suspects in north Harris County

HOUSTON

Sean Roy Brady, 27, and 34-year-old Tracy Lynn McLaughlin were arrested early Saturday morning after someone flagged down a Harris County Pct. 4 constable and said that a gas station in the 8700 block of Spring Cypress Road was being robbed.

By the time the deputy arrived, the suspects were already leaving the parking lot. Officers followed the car until it pulled over and the duo was detained.

During their investigation, officers learned that the suspects first tried to rob at gunpoint a customer outside the gas station but when the victim ran away, Brady allegedly entered the convenience store, hoping to get cash from inside. However, he wasn't able to open the register and so he jumped back into the car, where McLaughlin was waiting behind the wheel.

The victims positively identified both of them as the suspects. Deputies arrested them, and during a search at the processing center, they found both Brady and McLaughlin to be in possession of controlled substances.

And a further investigation also determined Brady had also responsible for at least two other aggravated robberies over a two-day span in that area.

As a result, Brady was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, one count aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance. McLaughlin was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance.

Both Brady and McLaughlin were booked into the Harris County Jail.
