Deputies first received a call about a woman being assaulted at an apartment complex. When they arrived, a witness told them the suspect was leaving the complex in a black Chevy pickup.
Deputies spotted the vehicle and gave chase. That chase would span roughly five miles along Veterans Memorial to FM 1960 and then down Kuykendahl.
On Kuykendahl near Ella, deputies say the suspect was slowed by traffic. That's when a K-9 officer and deputy approached the vehicle and the suspect gave up.
The suspect is facing evading arrest and a possible assault charge.
